Upon graduation from Springfield High School, she attended Middle Tennessee State University earning her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She continued her education at Trevecca Nazarene University where she received her Master of Arts in Educational Leadership in 2005.

Polly will be starting her 20th year in education the fall of 2016. She began her career in August of 1997 when she was hired by the Robertson County Board of Education. After teaching in the classroom for 9 years, Polly became an assistant principal at White House Heritage School. Since 2012, Polly has been an assistant principal at Creek Wood High School in Dickson County. She has been in administration for the past 10 years.

Polly has been a resident of Burns, TN in Dickson County since 2002 and a member of the Walnut Street Church of Christ in Dickson. She is married to Chris Spencer of Burns, a Dickson County native. They have a beautiful 6 year old daughter, Samantha, who attends Stuart Burns Elementary School.
